Short Story
United States
My dear friend Mohammad and his family are fighting every day just to stay alive under the hellish reality of genocide in Gaza. They’ve lost so many things we take for granted but they still hold on to hope. Mohammad himself is a kind, gentle soul truly “cute” in every sense of the word and that alone should tell you how deeply he deserves to live in peace and safety.
This isn’t just about financial aid. It’s about helping a human being and an entire family reclaim their right to live with dignity, to wake up each morning without fearing it might be their last. Your support for Mohammad and his family means giving them a glimpse of hope and a chance at a better life, far from pain and suffering
Thank you, and Free Palestine.
A Cry from Gaza: Mohammad Naaman’s Plea for Safety
Hello , My name is Mohammad Naman Al-Awdat. I’m a 25-year-old Palestinian living in Gaza with my family . I’m writing to you from the heart of suffering, from a land where life has turned into a daily nightmare where there’s no safety, and no moment free from fear.
On October 7th, we were forced to flee our home in the north due to heavy bombing. We moved to southern Khan Younis, hoping to find safety but the attacks only intensified. Eventually, we ended up in a camp in western Khan Younis, where we set up a cloth tent and called it our “safe haven”.
But on October 13th, 2024, while sitting with my family inside the tent, we heard a terrifying explosion. I never imagined it would be inside our shelter. Debris flew and hit my mother, and my sister screamed. I ran to her and found her face covered in wounds and beside her, our little cat had died. A missile had pierced our tent, leaving us in shock and horror. Since that day, I’ve lost any sense of safety. Every moment is filled with fear that I might lose someone I love.
After a long and exhausting journey of displacement, filled with fear and tents, we were finally allowed to return to the north. But when we arrived, we were shocked to find our house still standing yet completely looted. Everything had been stolen during our absence. Only the walls remained.
Then the truce ended, and the war returned like a nightmare chasing us daily. The occupation closed all borders, surrounded us from every direction, and deprived us of the most basic necessities water, food, medicine, and even the ability to flee. The cycle of displacement continues to this day.
And here I am, still searching for any source of safety or life, despite everything we’re enduring in Gaza . We lost our sense of security. We lost the little cat that used to comfort us in sadness. But we didn’t lose each other and that’s our greatest blessing.
All we ask for is a chance to survive. A chance to live with dignity. A chance to say: we are human, and we deserve to live ✊.
I’m not asking for much. Just for you to extend a hand, to be our voice in this world, and to help us escape this nightmare.
Every contribution , no matter how small , can change our lives and save us from this unbearable reality .
